Key Features and Function
Matrix Type (Loop Matrices)
These are Loop Matrices, meaning each matrix band is pre-formed into a loop or circular shape. They are used with a simple tightening mechanism or a specialized holder that cinches the matrix securely around the tooth.
Anatomical Contouring
The metal bands are pre-contoured to follow the natural anatomical curves of posterior teeth. This helps in accurately restoring the proximal contour and marginal ridge, ensuring a more natural final restoration.
Contents (N 1.595 – 6 Pieces)
The kit contains 6 loop matrices, typically divided into two primary sizes to accommodate different tooth diameters:
-
Small (S)
-
Large (L)
Material and Thickness
The matrices are constructed from thin yet durable medical-grade stainless steel, allowing for minimal interference at the contact area while maintaining excellent stability during restorative material condensation.
Clinical Application
Loop matrices are most commonly used in simple MO or DO cavity preparations, where the matrix must be quickly placed, tightened, and stabilized with a wedge. They can be used with traditional sectional matrix holders or standard tensioning devices, making them highly versatile.
Clinical Benefits
Speed and Simplicity
This system offers a fast and straightforward method for matrix placement compared to complex sectional matrix systems, making it ideal for routine Class II restorations.
Good Initial Adaptation
The pre-looped design allows the matrix to adapt easily to the tooth circumference with minimal adjustment.
Economical Solution
Loop matrices provide a compact and cost-effective matrix solution without the need for extensive additional hardware.
