The TPC X-ray Film Positioning System is designed to ensure correct parallelism between the X-ray film (or sensor) and the long axis of the tooth, while also maintaining perpendicular alignment of the X-ray beam. Prevention of Cone-Cutting Errors

A key advantage of the system is its ability to prevent cone cutting, a common radiographic error where part of the image is missing due to improper beam alignment. The indicator arms and aiming rings guide the operator in positioning the X-ray tube head correctly, ensuring the beam is centered over the film.

Universal Clinical Applications

The system is suitable for a wide range of intra-oral radiographic techniques, including:

• Anterior radiographs (front teeth)

• Posterior radiographs (back teeth)

• Bitewing images, used primarily for caries detection and evaluation of crestal bone levels

• Endodontic radiographs, essential during root canal procedures

Film Size Compatibility

The TPC positioning system is compatible with all common intra-oral X-ray film sizes, including #0, #1, #2, and #3, making it adaptable for pediatric and adult patients as well as various diagnostic requirements.

For improved usability, the components are often color-coded according to procedure type, allowing quick identification and assembly. The system features rounded bite blocks with no sharp edges and an open bite-block design, enhancing patient comfort and reducing gag reflex.
All components are designed to be fully autoclavable, ensuring compliance with infection control and sterilization standards.

Bite Blocks
These are the components the patient bites on to stabilize the film or holder and position it correctly in relation to the teeth.

Indicator Arms
These extend from the bite block and guide the placement of the aiming ring and the X-ray tube head.

Aiming Rings
