Target Teeth
These matrices are specifically sized and contoured for premolars (bicuspids), which have a different anatomical profile than molars. They are shorter in height and feature a more subtle curvature to match the smaller diameter and less bulbous anatomy of premolars.

Sectional Matrix Design
The matrices are designed as sectional matrices, meaning they wrap only around the proximal surface being restored rather than encircling the entire tooth. This open design allows for easier placement of the matrix ring, improved visual access, and more predictable contact point formation.

Material
They are manufactured from thin, highly flexible, and resilient medical-grade stainless steel. This allows the matrix to withstand packing and condensation forces while easily adapting to the natural tooth contour.

Anatomical Shape
Each matrix features a precisely pre-contoured curvature engineered to restore the ideal anatomical form of the premolar’s proximal surface and marginal ridge. This helps achieve correct emergence profile and functional occlusion.

Thickness Options
For greater clinical flexibility, the matrices are typically available in two thicknesses:

• 0.050 mm (Standard): Provides excellent rigidity for most restorative procedures.

• 0.035 mm (Ultra-thin): Ideal for tight interproximal conditions where minimal thickness is required.

Clinical Application
The matrices are placed interproximally and secured using a sectional matrix ring or clamp. The pressure from the clamp not only stabilizes the matrix but also generates the tooth separation force needed to create a tight, functional interproximal contact point.
