Key Features and Components
Type of Crown
These are Transparent Strip Crowns (Crown Forms). They are clear, pre-shaped plastic matrices and are not intended to be used as permanent restorations.
Purpose and Function
The crowns function as a matrix or mold for posterior composite restorations. They are filled with composite resin and seated over the prepared tooth. The transparent material allows the clinician to light-cure the composite directly through the crown form, ensuring complete polymerization.
Anatomical Design
The crowns are pre-contoured to replicate the natural anatomy of the occlusal surface and axial walls of premolars and molars. This minimizes the need for manual sculpting and significantly reduces finishing and polishing time.
Kit Contents (64 Pieces)
The universal kit includes a balanced assortment of posterior crown forms to cover different quadrants and tooth sizes:
-
32 pieces for Premolars (upper and lower jaws)
-
32 pieces for Molars (upper and lower jaws)
The crowns are typically available in Small (S), Medium (M), and Large (L) sizes to ensure accurate fitting for a wide range of tooth dimensions.
Clinical Applications
These crown forms are ideal for:
-
Large Class I and Class II composite restorations
-
Core build-ups
-
Temporary crown fabrication
They are suitable for use in both adult and select pediatric posterior teeth.
Material Advantages
The clear plastic material allows optimal light penetration, ensuring effective curing of light-activated composite materials. It also enables the clinician to visually monitor marginal adaptation and material setting. After curing, the forms are designed to be easily removed, leaving behind a smooth, anatomically correct, and well-adapted composite surface.
